SMA sells a lot of fleet, utility and commercial stock, including vehicles that have spent their working life on site rather than on the road. We collect from SMA centres and deliver anywhere in England.

Ex utility and ex municipal stock dominates, much of which spent its life on site rather than on the road. Fitted bodies, beacons, racking and access equipment all change the height, the weight distribution and sometimes whether the vehicle can go on a bed at all.
Centres, and why the vehicle matters more than the address
SMA runs centres in different parts of the country, and their commercial stock can include tipper bodies, welfare units and vehicles with fitted equipment that changes the weight and height. We confirm the vehicle type as well as the site before quoting, because a converted commercial is not the same job as a hatchback.

Buyers here are purchasing working plant on wheels: welfare units, tippers, caged vehicles, things with a crane on the back. Their concern is whether the transporter can physically and legally carry it. So the conversation starts with dimensions and weight, and price comes after that is settled.
Measuring before booking, not on arrival
You send the lot and release details, we confirm the collection site and the vehicle specification. The driver checks the vehicle over, including any fitted body or equipment, photographs it, and loads it. Anything with a raised body or fitted crane is measured for overall height before it goes on the bed.
Height, weight and fitted equipment
Overall height is measured with the body and any fitted equipment included, not from a manufacturer figure. Weight is confirmed before a truck is allocated. Where a fitted crane or raised body puts the load out of range for a standard bed we say so at the quote stage rather than sending a driver to fail.
Give us the specification, not just the lot
Body type, fitted equipment, approximate weight and any height restriction at the delivery end. Then we can confirm the right truck.

Specification details we need in advance
Provide the lot number, the SMA centre, the release reference, the buyer name and the delivery address. For commercials, tell us the body type, any fitted equipment, and the approximate weight if you know it. If the delivery site has a height barrier or restricted turning, say so at the booking stage.
